The Local Shopping REIT plc is a major owner of local retail property in the UK, listed on the London Stock Exchange. On 11th May 2007, shortly following admission, the Company elected to become a Real Estate Investment Trust ("REIT"). As a REIT the Company has a tax efficient corporate structure.
Our Companys investment objective is to provide our shareholders with an attractive and growing level of income with additional capital growth, through active asset management.
We are the first specialist start-up Real Estate Investment Trust ("REIT") to launch in the U.K. and intend to become the country's leading owner of local retail property.
Our Investment Policy is to acquire local shops in urban and suburban areas, investing in neighbourhood and convenience properties throughout the U.K. Since its inception in January 2005, the Group has built up a portfolio with a valuation of over £190million which it intends to grow.
We also look to enhance shareholder returns by continuing our asset management skills with the complementary interests and resources of joint venture partners.
The portfolio consists of 655 local retail properties nationwide, from Inverness to Penzance. The Local Shopping REIT plc believes in sustaining the local trading community nationwide and providing solid returns for our investors in a fair and open manner.
